Calming nerves and spreading cheer one paw at a time

Animals are “stress-busters” and can help calm your nerves. They are also a fun distraction while you wait at the airport. You can spot our therapy pets and their handlers by their cute matching outfits.  Make sure you say hi and have a visit!

You can even get trading cards from the handlers that show photos of the therapy pets and tell you a bit more about each of them.

The Pet Therapy Society of Northern Alberta has been spreading calm and cheer through the Pet Therapy Program at YEG since 2015. They have over 60 trained therapy animals including dogs, cats and even rabbits that serve local hospitals, schools and correctional facilities.

YEG was the first airport in Canada to adopt this program and we advise on pet therapy pilot projects at many other airports.
