Check your email for a reply that you can return later! Head to Central Security screening on the Departures level at your scheduled appointment time, and look for the YEG EXPRESS entrance.
How it works!
- Sign up in advance up to 72 hours before your flight departure time at home or when you arrive at the airport (domestic or international flights; excludes US departures).
- Select the airline you’re flying with, your destination and your flight number along with your name, the number of people in your party and contact information to save your spot.
- Once you’re at the airport check-in and check your bags as you normally would. Then feel free to grab a snack and spend more time with loved ones until your appointment time.
- Go to YEG Central Security screening area and look for the YEG EXPRESS virtual queue entrance area
- Show airport staff your QR code and you’re ready to go through screening!
YEG EXPRESS is a reservation program for access to Central Security screening at Edmonton International Airport.
By using YEG EXPRESS, your place in the line is expedited to the front of the queue. You simply schedule your appointment for screening in advance from home or when you get to the airport. It is free for all passengers to use. Enjoy less time waiting and more time to shop, dine and relax before you board your plane.
Reservations and walk-up appointments are available for departing passengers at YEG’s Central Security screening area for domestic and international travellers.
If a passenger’s flight time is at 9:00 am on a Saturday, they can reserve their YEG EXPRESS spot starting at 9:00 am on Wednesday until 7:45 am on Saturday. They could book a timeslot anytime between 5:30 and 7:45 am, depending on their preference.
The earliest you can go through security using this system is 3.5 hours before your flight, and the latest you can go through is 1 hour, 15 minutes before your flight.
Slots are limited and may book up fast, so we recommend booking as early as possible.

No. YEG EXPRESS is an optional service for our passengers. Passengers can still go through regular security lineups, and do not need to book in advance.
No. This service is available for general screening services. If you are part of the Verified Traveller program, you can enter security through the dedicated Verified Traveller line and receive the benefits you would normally receive through the Verified Traveller program.
No. This is free for our passengers to use.
There will be limited appointments available and there may be increased passenger demand at specific times of the day. We recommend you reserve your appointment as quickly as possible. You can reserve your appointment up to 72 hours before your flight departure time and times are available up to 1 hour, 15 minutes before your flight departure time.

Yes! The maximum group size eligible to enter under one appointment is 10 guests.
You can reserve your appointment up to 72 hours before your flight departure time, and times are available 1.25-3.5 hours before your flight departure time.
We offer a grace period of 15 minutes per appointment time, so you may arrive at any time during the 15-minute appointment window and enter the line. If you arrive more than 15 minutes past your appointment time, it would be best to reschedule your appointment (based on availability), or you may enter through the regular queue lanes.
Yes! Check your confirmation email and click on a link to cancel the appointment.
Make sure to check that the time, date, airline and flight number are all correct when signing up for your appointment. YEG EXPRESS is available daily during peak times. At this time, flights outside of these operating hours are currently unavailable for booking.
If you’re connecting at another airport, you will have to select your first stop from the drop-down menu, rather than your final destination, in order to see your flight as an option.

Passengers using the service will be asked to select the date of departure, destination airport, airline, flight number and party size. Lastly, you will be asked to provide an email to receive the appointment confirmation with the QR code as an attachment. And that is all!
When signing up make sure that your email is typed correctly and check your inbox’s junk or spam folders just in case. If you’re still unable to find your appointment information after registering, you can sign up again for another appointment.
