Effective March 19, 2020, EIA’s Nexus office will be closed until further notice. This includes all US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler Program Enrollment Centers and all public access to Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, and FAST enrollment locations.
Further information is available online via the Trusted Traveler Program.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) recently modernized the way NEXUS members are processed at Canadian airports. The existing NEXUS kiosks that use iris recognition technology have been replaced with new, modernized NEXUS kiosks that use facial verification technology.
To facilitate the transition to facial biometrics, your cooperation is required. You will need your passport the first time you use a new kiosk. You will be prompted to upload your passport photograph during your first passage for storage and identity verification purposes. Members who do not have a passport will be referred to an officer for identity verification.
For more information on this initiative, including instructions on how to use the new NEXUS facial verification kiosks, please visit NEXUS Air.

Apply for a NEXUS membership and enjoy faster travel.
NEXUS members are pre-cleared as trusted travellers and save time using automated self-service kiosks at EIA and other airports and border crossings.
The best part? It only costs $50 to apply for a five-year membership.
What is NEXUS?
NEXUS is a Canada-United States program for pre-approved, low-risk travellers entering Canada or the United States (US) at air, land and marine border crossings.
NEXUS is managed in Canada by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
What are the benefits of being a NEXUS member?
NEXUS members cross the Canada-US border more quickly and easily by using automated self-serve kiosks in airports. NEXUS members can also enjoy dedicated lanes when travelling by land and Telephone Reporting Centres (TRCs) when travelling by water.
At EIA, NEXUS members use a dedicated fast-track security lane. Because NEXUS cardholders have been pre-cleared, they can access a special pre-board security screening line at EIA.
How do I apply for a NEXUS card?
You can apply online or obtain an application form from the NEXUS Canada website. When your paperwork is submitted, you will be scheduled for an interview.
The cost for the NEXUS card is just $50 per applicant for a five-year membership. Children under the age of 18 are free.
