What is Verified Traveller?

The Verified Traveller Program is intended to expedite pre-approved travellers through security lines at Canadian airports. Verified travellers are passengers who have undergone extensive background checks and carry special photo identification cards, through programs like NEXUS and Global Entry, or for those in professions like the Military, RCMP/Police, Airline Crew and Airport Workers.

The Verified Traveller program aims to improve the security screening experience for verified travellers. General wait times vary for a variety of reasons and can fluctuate throughout the day based on passenger volume and number of flights.

YEG recommends that travellers arrive two hours in advance for domestic flights and three hours in advance for US and international flights.

NEXUS members are pre-cleared as verified travellers and save time using automated self-service kiosks at YEG and other airports and border crossings.

The best part? It only costs $50 to apply for a five-year membership.

Visit the NEXUS website to learn more and apply.
