Travel Advisory – Edmonton International Airport August 12, 13 and 14

EDMONTON – Edmonton Airports requests that travellers flying out of Edmonton International Airport on August 12, 13 and/or 14 leave themselves an extra half-an-hour to travel and check in at the airport. Due to a significant number of Edmonton 2001 World Championships in Athletics participants leaving Edmonton on these particular days, the airport will be extremely busy.

It is advisable for travellers to report to the airport at least two hours in advance of domestic departures (within Canada). Travellers departing on International Flights should ensure that they are at the airport at least three hours in advance of departure time.

Finally, departing travellers should check their flight status before departing for Edmonton International Airport. Flights may be checked with the airline, travel agent, online at Edmonton Airports website at www.flyeia.com (day of departure) or by calling Edmonton Airports Information Booth at 1-800-268-7134.

Edmonton Airports and our airport service providers have increased staffing levels to assist with the additional volume of travellers.
