March 13, 2019: Transport Canada has issued a statement regarding restricting airspace to Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 9 aircraft.

This safety notice restricts commercial passenger flights from any air operator, both domestic and foreign, of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 9 aircraft – from arriving, departing, or overflying Canadian airspace.

This safety notice is effective immediately, and will remain in place until further notice.

Three Canadian airlines have these aircraft in their fleets (Air Canada, Sunwing, WestJet). These airlines are working with passengers to rebook their flights. All passengers are advised to check with their airline on flight schedule.
