EDMONTON — Edmonton Airports today announced that the popular Sky Shuttle service to Edmonton International Airport will be extended to serve Government Centre effective March 16, 1998.

Travelers destined to or from the area of the Alberta Legislature will be able to enjoy door to door service to Edmonton International Airport. The shuttle will pick up or drop off passengers at the southeast entrance to the Legislature Building.

Travelers should call Laidlaw Transportation, the operators of the Sky Shuttle, at 465-8515 to book their trip, at least two hours in advance of requiring the service. The Sky Shuttle is available between the hours of 5:30 AM and 11:30 PM, seven days a week.

The normal rate of $11 one way or $18 return (adult fare) will apply. Group and children’s rates are also available.

The extension of the service to include the Legislature Building was in response to the phenomenal success of the shuttle bus service, as well as requests from those who work at or near the Legislature.

The Sky Shuttle was introduced in December 1996, and during 1997 it enjoyed 168% growth in passenger volume over 1996. The Sky Shuttle is a joint initiative of Edmonton Airports and Laidlaw Transportation.
