Renovations on WestJet check-in area begin today

WestJet guests flying domestically from Edmonton International Airport (EIA) will move through the check-in lines more quickly once renovations adding new flow-through check-in counters are completed later in the fall.

During the renovations, WestJet will move from its current check-in area to a location farther north on the main concourse of the North Terminal (Departures level). Passenger drop off for WestJet will be at door 25 and 26. Charters will continue to operate in the far northwestern corner of the North Terminal.

Flow-through counters add to the efficiency of checking in, placing bags on the baggage conveyor belt and moving toward the pre-board screening area.

With new common-user terminal equipment that allows all airlines to use any check-in counter at EIA, WestJet’s transition to the new temporary check-in area will be smooth, limiting any customer inconvenience.

WestJet and Edmonton Airports appreciate passengers’ patience during the renovations.
WestJet has significantly ramped up its services at EIA over the past several years. This spring, EIA surpassed Vancouver International Airport as the airline’s third largest domestic hub.

Edmonton International Airport is Canada’s fastest-growing major airport.
