Access to the northern Rockies from Edmonton just got easier! On May 31, 2015, Brewster will launch Mountain Escape, a new sightseeing route between Edmonton and Jasper. In partnership with Edmonton Destination Marketing Hotels, Edmonton International Airport and Edmonton Tourism, this new route gives visitors the opportunity to put their feet up, relax and enjoy the scenic route to Jasper on a deluxe motor coach.

“Edmonton has truly been Alberta’s hidden gem, a vibrant urban centre in the heart of the wilderness and the gateway to Northern Canada and the Rockies,” says Maggie Davison, vice-president of Edmonton Tourism. “We are very excited to announce this new Brewster itinerary, which will directly connect our visitors to the ultimate western Canada experience.  The partnership between Edmonton Tourism, Edmonton International Airport, Edmonton Destination Marketing Hotels and Brewster on this new initiative clearly shows how connected we are as Canada’s northernmost city.”

“EIA has excellent air access, serving 60 non-stop destinations, including London, Reykjavik, and Amsterdam starting May 19, as well as 13 U.S. hubs,” says Tom Ruth, president and CEO of Edmonton International Airport. “This exciting new route is another opportunity for our visitors to explore Edmonton and the northern Rockies and an ideal opportunity for visiting friends and relatives flying in to Edmonton this summer.”

On the way to Jasper, visitors will experience the Westbound Mountain Escape and choose from a day of shopping at world-renowned West Edmonton Mall or enjoy the Edmonton City Sights tour — a visit in one of Canada’s top five neighbourhoods, Old Strathcona, accompanied with a trip back in time at Fort Edmonton Park.

Headed back to Edmonton, visitors will enjoy the Eastbound Mountain Escape which will travel down the Icefields Parkway, and include two iconic activities: the Athabasca Glacier Adventure and the epic Glacier Skywalk.

Dave McKenna, president of Brewster explains, “This new initiative is designed to provide guests travelling into Edmonton with more options to connect to Jasper and Banff National Parks. The Mountain Escape tour offers guests the flexibility of tailoring their itineraries by easily pairing this experience with any of Brewster’s other continuous departures that connect the Canadian Rockies with Edmonton and beyond.”
