Emergency Response Exercise to be conducted at Edmonton City Centre Airport
Edmonton — Edmonton Airports, in partnership with the City of Edmonton, NAV CANADA and Transport Canada will be conducting an emergency response exercise this afternoon at Edmonton City Centre Airport. In accordance with Transport Canada requirements, this exercise will enable personnel to review emergency response plans and procedures in the event of an incident. An on-site crash will be simulated. City of Edmonton police, fire/rescue and emergency medical services will be deployed and may be visible to the public.
Date: October 8, 2003
Time: Start between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Location: Edmonton City Centre Airport
Emergency Media Centre
In the event of an emergency at Edmonton City Centre Airport, a Media Centre will be established in the Building #3 boardroom located on the 2nd level.
The Media Centre will NOT be activated during this exercise; however, Edmonton Airports will support media wishing to cover this exercise. Media wishing to cover this exercise should contact Corporate Communications to make arrangements prior to arrival.
The assistance of the media in communicating and alleviating any public concerns that may arise as a result of the emergency response vehicle activity associated with the simulation would be appreciated.
