EIA tops North American airports again for marketing and communications excellence

For the second year in a row, EIA wins continental award for best airport communications

August 10, 2009 (Edmonton, Alta.) — For the second year in a row, Edmonton International Airport (EIA) has claimed the top spot at Airports Council International-North America’s (ACI-NA) “Excellence in Marketing and Communications Contest.”

EIA proudly secured the highest honour of the contest, the Peggy G. Hereford Award. This award is given to honour overall creativity and excellence in marketing and public relations among airports across North America. EIA competed with over 300 submissions from 62 airports across the U.S. and Canada.

“EIA’s dual commitment to outstanding customer service and promoting the Edmonton region are truly at the heart of our we’ll move you brand,” says Reg Milley, EIA President and CEO. “This win is another indication of how fruitful our efforts are to position EIA as an industry leader and proud community booster.”

In addition to the Hereford award, EIA took honours in seven award categories, with four first place finishes including a big win for the very popular Language of Speed destination marketing campaign.

Hereford award include airports in Los Angeles, Seattle and Denver—a peer group EIA is greatly honoured to be a part of.

EIA, Canada’s fastest-growing major airport for the past three years, is committed to complete and effective customer service — we’ll move you.
