Edmonton Transit System buses now connect to London!

ETS starts direct, regularly scheduled buses to EIA – Route 747

April 27, 2012 (Edmonton, Alta.) – Edmonton Transit System (ETS) and Edmonton International Airport (EIA) are partnering to provide the Capital Region with seamless, regional and international travel.  Specially marked buses showing that they are direct to EIA and designated “Route 747” are running to the airport starting Sunday, April 29.

“On behalf of the City of Edmonton, I am proud that we are now offering this convenient and affordable way to travel to and from Edmonton International Airport,” said Mayor Stephen Mandel. “It is important that we are able to respond to the diverse transportation needs of our citizens and visitors to our region, which is experiencing tremendous growth as a place of opportunity for business and tourism.”

  • Buses travel directly from Century Park Transit Centre to the EIA and return.
  • The bus service to EIA runs seven days a week from 5:00 am – 12:30 am.  Buses leave every half-hour during peak hours, from 5:00 – 9:00 am and from 3:00 – 6:30 pm, and every hour during off-peak times.
  • The fare is $5 dollars cash for a one-way trip or $100 for a monthly pass, not transferable to regular ETS service.
  • Luggage racks have been added to the buses to accommodate luggage.
  • Free Wi-Fi on buses.
  • Bicycles are not allowed.

“We are really impressed with what ETS has done to accommodate our travellers,” said Myron Keehn, Vice President of Commercial Development for EIA. “We are thrilled to partner with ETS to collectively deliver a user-friendly, fast transportation option for both the Capital Region as well as international visitors to our city.”
