Edmonton International Airport to conduct emergency exercise Sept. 29

EDMONTON – Edmonton Airports will conduct an emergency response exercise tomorrow (Sept. 29, 2006) at Edmonton International Airport (EIA). News media are invited to observe the exercise with authorized escorts.

Complying with Transport Canada Aerodrome Standards and Recommended Practices, the exercise will enable airport and emergency response personnel to review and practice emergency response procedures in the event of an actual emergency. The exercise will simulate an airliner crash.

Date: Friday, Sept. 29, 2006
Location: North Multi-Purpose Room, Arrivals Level (behind Booster Juice)
Time: 9:45 a.m. (briefing); Please arrive no later than 10:00 a.m.

Please bring comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.

Parking vouchers will be available for Parkade Park and Value Park (surface lot).
