Edmonton Airports Welcomes New Directors

EDMONTON — Peter Watson, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Edmonton Airports, today welcomed John Bowes, appointed by the Municipal District of Sturgeon, and Iris Evans, appointed by the County of Strathcona, to the Edmonton Airports Board.
Bowes will accept the seat vacated by Gilbert Soetaert, who was elected to the Council of the Municipal District of Sturgeon on October 16, 1995 and resigned from the Edmonton Airports Board. Bowes will serve to the end of Soetaert’s term, December 31, 1996.
Evans will accept the seat vacated by John Craig, who accepted the position of General Manager, General Aviation at Edmonton Airports on December 1, 1995 and resigned from the Board. Evans will serve to the end of Craig’s term, December 31, 1998.
Watson also announced that Sid Hanson, a current Board member, has been chosen to serve as the Vice-Chairman of the Board. Hanson replaces John Craig in this capacity.
The Board of Directors of Edmonton Airports has ten members, eight of whom are appointed by the City of Edmonton, the City of Leduc, the County of Leduc, Parkland County, Strathcona County and the MD of Sturgeon, and two of whom are “at-large” appointments.
