Edmonton Airports hosts Fly-In/Open House at Canada’s Only “Bare-Land Condominium Airport”
EDMONTON – To highlight the role of Cooking Lake Airport as a recreational flying facility with the only float plane facility in central Alberta, and its economic value to the local community, Edmonton Airports is hosting a Fly-In/Open House at the airport on Saturday, August 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
“Each of our four airports has a unique role,” says Andy Shanks, Manager, General Aviation Services for Edmonton Airports. “Whether it’s float plane access, flight training, charter service, aircraft maintenance, emergency medical services, private jets, vintage aircraft, recreational planes, cargo, or corporate aircraft, Edmonton Airports has an airport to meet your needs.”
Cooking Lake Airport holds the distinction of being Canada’s only bare-land condominium airport.
The event promises to be fun for the whole family. Highlights include:
• Free barbecue with donations in support of Hope Air
• Fly-in event promoted to pilots across the country
• Mini trade show featuring airport businesses and clubs
• Future development opportunities
• Sight-seeing tours available for sale
Cooking Lake Airport is located approximately 20 km east of Edmonton via Highway 14.
