Edmonton — Edmonton Airports is pleased to announce its support of the Cold Lake Air Show, July 17 and 18, 2004. The Cold Lake Air Show will celebrate CFB Cold Lake’s 50th Anniversary and the 80th Anniversary of the Air Force.

In 2001, Edmonton Airports and air show producer, The Air Show Network, entered into an agreement to present five air shows, one every second year, commencing in 2002 and hosted at Edmonton International Airport.

The next air show at Edmonton International Airport was originally scheduled for July 10 & 11, 2004 with Cold Lake’s 50th Anniversary Show scheduled for July 17 and 18, 2004. Edmonton Airports, The Air Show Network and 4 Wing Cold Lake considered hosting and co-marketing back to back Alberta air shows as scheduled, but decided that there was significant risk of competition that could compromise the quality and attendance of both air shows. Therefore, Edmonton Airports and the Air Show Network will not host an air show in 2004, but instead will strongly support and promote Cold Lake’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Air Show.

Scott Clements, Edmonton Airports President and CEO states, “Edmonton Airports and 4 Wing Cold Lake have a long history of partnership. Edmonton Airports is committed to lending strong support to the 2004 Cold Lake Anniversary Air Show, and promoting this commemorative event to Capital Region air show fans.”

Edmonton Airports and The Air Show Network continue to plan for air shows hosted at Edmonton International Airport in 2006, 2008 and 2010. The next show at Edmonton International Airport will occur on July 8-9, 2006.

Edmonton Airports is a not-for-profit organization mandated to manage the region’s airport assets on behalf of and in the best interest of the Capital Region.
