Edmonton – Edmonton Airports is pleased to accept honours in the Airports Council International — North America (ACI-NA) 2003 Excellence in Marketing and Communications Contest. Edmonton Airports won second place amongst all North American airport entries in the Creative Innovations-Promotions category for the 2002 Christmas card and an honorable mention in the Brochures category for the ETeam — 10 Commitments to the Customer brochure.

The brochure, Our 10 Commitments to the Customer, was commissioned as an internal communications piece for ETeam – the partnership of the 3500 employees and 65 companies at Edmonton International Airport. The brochure and its 10 commitments is the foundation upon which ETeam builds its programs and initiatives, as well as the basis for ETeam’s front line customer service training program. Through ETeam’s unique partnership, its commitment to customers is leading the way to world class customer service and airport experiences.

Scott Clements, Edmonton Airports President and CEO states, “Edmonton Airports is a not-for-profit authority charged with managing our region’s aviation assets on behalf of the Capital Region. As such, we recognize our accountability to our community, and have always understood a strong communications program to be critical to our responsibilities.”

Airports Council International — North America draws experts from the aviation industry, public relations, marketing, advertising, journalism, design, photography and special events to compose the judging panel. Award categories cover a wide range of media including brochures, advertising, marketing and public relations campaigns, newsletters, special events, video and film productions, and aviation education and tour programs.

This is the second consecutive year that Edmonton Airports is honoured by ACI-NA in this widely recognized North American competition. In 2002, Edmonton Airports was recognized with two first place awards in the Annual Report and Black and White Newsletter categories.

Airports Council International – North America represents local, regional and state governing bodies that own and operate commercial airports in the United States and Canada. Over 300 aviation-related businesses are also members of the association, which is the largest of the six worldwide regions of Airports Council International.
