Council Appoints City Representative for the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority Board of Directors

At a special meeting on Thursday, November 21, 2002, Edmonton City Council appointed Mr. Gary Hanson as a City of Edmonton representative on the Board of Directors for the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority. His appointment is effective for four years, beginning January 1, 2003.

Mr. Hanson is the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of West Edmonton Mall. A position he has held since 1994. He has significant board experience, including serving as the Chairman of the Board of Economic Development Edmonton. His experience in tourism, and his active involvement on tourism boards and advisory committees will be an asset as an ERAA Director.
Edmonton Airports is a regional airport authority responsible for developing a system of airports for the general benefit of the public in the Edmonton Region. It currently operates the Edmonton International Airport, Edmonton City Centre Airport, Villeneuve Airport, and Cooking Lake Airport.
