EDMONTON – The Alberta Aviation Museum at Edmonton City Centre Airport is the site of Airfest 2000 on Father’s Day, June 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Activities will be centred in the Alberta Aviation Museum and Heritage Centre at 11410 Kingsway Avenue.

Admission and parking are free. Parking is available at the parkade at Edmonton City Centre Airport off of Kingsway Avenue. Complimentary shuttle buses will provide transportation from the parkade directly to the event site.


11:00 a.m. Historical Designation Ceremony (Honourable Stan Woloshyn, Minister of Community Development representing the Province of Alberta).

12:00 p.m. Edmonton Skydive Centre Demonstration

1:00 p.m. Alberta Forestry Rapapattack

2:00 p.m. Water Bombing Demonstration (weather permitting)

3:00 p.m. Peace Helicopter Water Drop


10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. Behind the Scenes Airside Tours

10:00 a.m. “The Jenny” arrives (one of Canada’s oldest aircraft)

10:00 a.m. Tutor CT-114 & Twin CC138 Otter on display

10:00 a.m. Activities, Displays & Education Arena Open

10:00 a.m. Static Aircraft Display

10:00 a.m. Alberta Aviation Museum Open House (free admission)

10:00 a.m. Griffon Helicopter – 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron
