Canadian Helicopters chooses EIA as western Canadian headquarters

International company to lease space in new Central Tower

June 26, 2012 (Edmonton, Alta.)—Canadian Helicopters Group Inc. (TSX: CHL.A, CHL.B) has selected Edmonton International Airport (EIA) as its new western Canadian headquarters. The international provider of helicopter transportation and related support services will move into its offices in EIA’s new Central Tower when it opens in late fall.

“We welcome the highly successful and growing Canadian Helicopters Group to EIA,” says Reg Milley, EIA President and CEO. “They are an exciting addition to our growing mix of business aviation services at EIA and we are equally delighted they are leasing the fourth floor of our beautiful new Central Tower.”

Canadian Helicopters has operated in Edmonton for over 60 years and is making the move to EIA from Edmonton City Centre Airport.

Canadian Helicopters Group is an international provider of helicopter transportation and related support services with fixed primary operations in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and regions of Southeast Asia. The group also delivers contracted on-demand support in Afghanistan and Antarctica. Charter operations are provided under two brands: Helicopters New Zealand (HNZ) in the Asia Pacific and Antarctic regions and Canadian Helicopters Limited (CHL) in Canada and Afghanistan, In addition to charter services, the company provides flight training and third-party repair and maintenance services. With headquarters near Montreal, Canada, the company operates approximately 140 helicopters and employs approximately 800 personnel.

EIA is the aviation supply and services hub for Alberta’s resource sector. Central Tower, currently under construction as part of Expansion 2012, is an eight-story tower that will house the new NAV Canada Control Tower and office space for lease to business aviation and non-aviation tenants.
