Board of Directors announces upcoming retirement of President and CEO Reg Milley

April 16, 2013 (Edmonton, AB) – Today the Edmonton Airports Board of Directors announced that Reg Milley has advised of his intent to retire as President and CEO within the next year.

“Reg Milley has had a tremendous positive impact, not just on the airport, but in the community and the region as well. Under his leadership, the region has gained 15 more non-stop destinations and grown its commercial seat capacity by 40 per cent. The airport successfully added a passenger-friendly new terminal that offers 50 per cent more space, including doubling the number of shops and services now offered to passengers. Reg also sharpened our airport’s focus on logistics; we now have a new cargo village that is helping to drive business for the region. Thanks to his vision and leadership, we have a world-class airport,” says Tom Redl, Edmonton Airports Board Chair.

Edmonton Airports has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to executive search firms to conduct an international search to recruit a new President and CEO. Until a new President and CEO is in place, Mr. Milley will continue to lead the organization, deliver on goals and targets, and support an orderly transition to new leadership.

“Reg has set the bar high, but we’re confident we’ll recruit a top-notch executive who will continue to push toward our goal of gaining even greater customer loyalty, and achieving our goal to serve 10 million passengers by 2020. Attracting more passengers attracts more air service, and we’re ready for both, thanks to Reg’s vision and leadership, and the strong employee team that he has developed,” Mr. Redl continued.

“It’s business as usual for EIA and for me. It’s my privilege to continue working with the outstanding team of committed professionals at EIA who have accomplished so much over the last eight years.  Over the coming months, I will continue to fulfill my mandate, which is to deliver maximum benefit to our passengers and the region,” says Mr. Milley.

Reg Milley has served as President and CEO of Edmonton Airports since February 2005. Post-retirement, Edmonton will continue to be home to Reg and his wife, Marcie. Reg will remain engaged in the community through his continued service as a member of the boards of the Edmonton Symphony Society, Telus World of Science, and Telus Community Foundation Board, as well as a member of the Campaign Cabinet for the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region.
