Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton 2001 Local Organizing committee would like to invite media to a tour and photo opportunity at the Edmonton International Airport and The World’sâ„¢ Accreditation Centre (WAC) on July 26 to start at 11:00 a.m.

A short tour will give media the opportunity to walk through the same route the athletes will take when they arrive in Edmonton for the Championships. This route will include Canada Customs and Immigration facilities, arrivals level, hold rooms and The World’s Accreditation Centre (WAC). The airport is the first area athletes and visitors will see when they arrive in Edmonton. Come and see what has been done to make them feel welcome and generate a sense of excitement for The World’sâ„¢.

One-on-one media interviews will be available with Raymond Off, Vice President Operations (Airport Venue Leader), Diane Trenn, Terminal Manager, Ed Burke, President, TFCN Edmonton (E2001 Look Design), David Mitsui, WAC V-team Leader.

The World Championships in Athletics is expected to bring more than 3,000 athletes, coaches and officials from more than 200 countries, to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to compete in 24 men’s and 22 women’s athletic events. It is the third largest sporting event in the world, based on a worldwide television audience of four billion viewers expected to tune in during the 10 days of competition.

Canada Customs and Revenue Agency Detector Dog
